ReFine is an innovative brand redefining how we consume products in a world dominated by fast, impulsive purchasing. The goal of the project was to design an intuitive platform that allows users to buy, sell, and exchange high-quality second-hand items—without compromising on aesthetics, transparency, or the emotional connection behind every piece.


This case study outlines the design process behind creating a platform that blends sustainability, luxury, and community into a seamless user experience.

Second-hand shopping often carries barriers: doubts about item quality, lack of trust, inconsistent information, and overwhelming browsing experiences.
The challenge was to craft a solution that elevates reused items into something desirable, premium, and meaningful.


I aimed to design a platform that conveys trust, empowers conscious decision-making, and fosters a sense of belonging among users who value sustainability and individuality.

  • Efficiency and clarity: As busy mothers and professionals, they expect a smooth, focused experience without unnecessary friction.

These insights informed the product structure, content hierarchy, and visual language.

They actively seek creative, sustainable ways to personalize their lifestyle. Their motivations shaped every UX decision in the product.

Before defining the product strategy and UX direction for ReFine, I conducted a benchmark analysis of leading second-hand and resale platforms both local and global. The goal was to understand existing market standards, identify opportunities for differentiation, and extract best practices related to trust-building, storytelling, community features, and premium-quality presentation.


This analysis helped position ReFine not just as another resale marketplace, but as a unique, value-driven platform centered on sustainability and curated, high-end second-hand items.


The benchmark analysis revealed that although many platforms excel in commerce efficiency or social features, none truly combine premium aesthetics, sustainability, trust-building, and a value-centered community.
